
Living in the region
Banff and Buchan College is situated in the town of Fraserburgh, in North-East Scotland. Approximately 40 miles north of Aberdeen, there are a number of Central and North Aberdeenshire towns that are within easy driving distance of the College, with traffic-free roads allowing for an easy commute in both directions. With a history dating back to the 16th century, Fraserburgh is a bustling fishing port that offers some of the most affordable coastal housing and living in the UK.
The region boasts many beautiful, unspoilt beaches and countryside. Local amenities include a breadth of local golf courses, along with plenty of opportunities to participate in a range of other outdoor activities.
Aberdeen is easily accessible, and offers a variety of shopping and cultural activities, as well as being a thriving city that is home to a wealth of business and industry. Aberdeen International Airport has regular flights to a number UK destinations, as well as linking the region to a variety of European destinations.
It is of note that a number of colleagues working at Banff and Buchan College have moved to live and work in the area and have recognised the significant improvement in work/lifestyle balance that life in the region has afforded them.
